I witnessed the founding of GMV firsthand as an intern in 1984 in Juan José Martínez García’s laboratory. When I came onboard, there were five or six of us. From the start, the entrepreneurship we now associate with startups was front and center: the goal was to get top talent excited, dare to do it all, dream big, evolve fast. I only left GMV to fly higher, and I am proud to see what a great company it has become.

Since joining GMV in February 1986, I’ve benefited from the skill and professionalism of the colleagues with whom I’ve spent most of my professional career. Today I am convinced that GMV boasts the most formidable pool of talent in Spanish industry. Congratulations on the accomplishments of these past forty years.

I spent nearly thirty years at GMV, where I learned everything that has made me the professional I am today. I have memories of great moments, challenges, and numerous accomplishments shared with colleagues and, in many cases, friends. GMV has undoubtedly been one of the cornerstones of my professional career. During the 14 years I spent at GMV, it was a true privilege to help develop the stimulating sector of information and communications technologies as part of a great team of professionals, all of us passionate about GMV’s project and purpose.
I’m so proud to have GMV as a Spanish leader in the international technology ecosystem. Congratulations to all those who are currently part of GMV for these first 40 years leading technological innovation!

From my current job in space education, and as a GMV guy at heart, I’m joining the celebrations for GMV’s 40th anniversary with affection, gratitude, and appreciation. GMV is a world leader in technological innovation whose DNA continues to be the key to our professional successes, the result of the talent, excellence, and passion we pass on to our students, many of whom are now part of the GMV family.

Learnt of GMV from Carlos Bachmaier. Worked at first in EU-funded framework programme software projects, connected GMV to international email in 1988, Head of SWE Division, later helped launch SGI.
I had never worked at a place with such a high concentration of talent. I know for a fact that this is still the case. Congratulations on the anniversary and my best wishes for the next 40 years.

GMV is forty years old, and in my family we have been wearing the T-shirt for the last thirty years. In GMV, my first company, I found the rigorousness that defined my professional ethics and the values that have marked my career. But GMV gave me much more. Friendships were forged that last to today. I met my wife, and together we built our family. I have worked for other companies, but I have always worn the GMV T-shirt with pride and deep gratitude. Congratulations on these 40 years!

I still remember vividly the day Professor Martínez and I closed the deal for me to join GMV. He was a bit concerned because I didn’t exactly fit their profile of promising young talent, and I was excited to join a young and select group of technology experts. My time at GMV enriched and rejuvenated me. Thank you and congratulations on your 40th anniversary.

GMV is where I gained my first professional experience. I was there for 16 years and enjoyed an environment that encouraged teamwork and the drive to improve. I’ve sought to continue applying these values in the aviation security work I’ve done since then. I’m convinced that they are among the keys to both professional and personal success.

I consider myself part of the team that laid the groundwork for the great company GMV is today. The human factor is what made it possible: boundless collaboration, ambition in the best sense of the word, a passion for taking on new challenges, full availability to organize ourselves into ad hoc groups, technical excellence, hard work. Success belonged to everyone. And finally, the outstanding human quality: I still have great friends there.
