40 years of excellence

Always committed to excellence, service quality, and dedication to our clients, collaborators, and partners. Thank you all for accompanying us during these 40 years in which we have forged strong bonds and where innovation and commitment to a job well done have placed us at the forefront of technology. Thank you for your kind words on our anniversary!

Diana Morant Ripoll

Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities

GMV has come to symbolize our collective commitment to innovation, exploration, and discovery. Although its story began 40 years ago, with the talent and disruptive ambitions of a startup, the company has now reached its maturity as a leader in the space industry. GMV is an example of success driven by a pioneering spirit and an ability to predict the future. The company has been awarded, for example, a major contract for implementing a new satellite-based precise positioning system for Australia and New Zealand, thanks to the opportunities that Spain has been gaining through participation in programs developed by the European Space Agency (ESA).
The government of Spain is committed to space, with ambitious initiatives such as the first Spanish Space Agency (AEE) and promotion of new Space Act legislation for the country. However, none of this would be possible without our ability to rely upon the innovative talent of collaborators like GMV. This is a company with a thorough technical knowledge, based on everything from developing advanced propulsion technologies to exploring new horizons in space. Of course, curiosity is also an important part of this desire to always go one step further.
These have been 40 years of challenges for the company, and I know that there will be many more ahead, as GMV continues to play a significant role in making humanity’s most ambitious dreams come true in space.
Happy 40th Anniversary!

María Amparo Valcarce García

Spanish State Secretary of Defense

Spain’s Ministry of Defense is celebrating the 40th anniversary of an iconic Spanish company, GMV, which during the last four decades has established an outstanding reputation for its commitment to excellence and innovation.
GMV’s remarkable industrial capabilities in the fields of aeronautics, space, electronics, and simulation have led to a close collaboration with the Ministry of Defense, and the company has played a fundamental role in security and defense projects of national and international importance, while also strengthening connections between Spain’s public and private sectors. All of this has made a substantial contribution to our country’s technological progress and national security.
We’d like to congratulate everyone at GMV for reaching this significant milestone, and we enthusiastically look forward to witnessing your future accomplishments as we continue to work together.

Teresa Riesgo Alcaide

Secretary General for Innovation. Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities

Forty years ago, we didn’t know what a spin-off or new-space was, nor how important it was to be an "entrepreneur", but there was a university professor, Juan José Martínez García, who, with a group of collaborators, gave meaning to these words we use so much now. Thanks to his entrepreneurial spirit, he created a spin-off from the Polytechnic University of Madrid in a field as complex as space. And it is very exciting to see what GMV has become: a great multinational company, a technological (and commercial) leader in the space sector, but also in others such as e-health, cybersecurity, and automation.
GMV is an example we often use to show what the path of these emerging companies, which we now call start-ups, should be: companies that must have the ambition to become multinational leaders, and their entrepreneurs, true businesspeople. From that spin-off 40 years ago to this business group, there is a lot of work from many talented people. Congratulations GMV! Here’s to the next 40 years!

General of the Army Mr. Amador Enseñat y Berea

Chief of Staff of the Spanish Army

I would like to express my sincere congratulations to GMV, a leading Spanish company in the field of technological innovation. It is now celebrating its first 40 years of operation in service to the people of Spain, which it has done by strengthening the country’s technological and industrial base for defense. I also want to say how proud I am, not just as Chief of Staff of the Spanish Army, but also as the longest-serving member of its artillery arm, since I can personally testify to the fact that during the last decades, GMV’s history has been closely linked to the history of our artillery operations, through the leading role it has played in our fire support system. Thanks to this ongoing relationship, we can now benefit from use of the TALOS command and control system, which has become a point of reference in this area. In addition, ongoing evolution of this system is allowing us to perform increasingly effective integration into the command and control structures used by Spain and our allies. GMV has also made other key contributions to the Spanish Army, such as with our inertial and satellite-based navigation systems, and all of this now allows us to envision a future marked by a similarly intensive and rewarding collaboration between the Spanish Army and GMV.

General Javier Salto Martínez-Avial

Chief of Staff of the Spanish Air and Space Force

As the Chief of Staff of the Spanish Air and Space Force, it is an honor for me to congratulate GMV as it celebrates the 40th anniversary of its creation.
Clearly, the theme chosen for this commemoration, “Excellence and Beyond”, accurately reflects the company’s values, because during these last four decades, GMV has solidified its position as an aerospace leader in Spain’s defense industry, and in others as well, and it has played an essential role in developing some of our Air and Space Force’s most important programs.
I have no doubt that GMV will remain in that position, because of its ongoing commitment to innovation, quality, and technological leadership. All of this will guarantee many years of growth and excellence, and will strengthen GMV’s collaboration with us, as we continue to develop key capabilities in flight and in space.
I hope that this anniversary will mark the beginning of a new and exciting stage for GMV.

Juan Carlos Cortés

Director of the Spanish Space Agency

Throughout its 40 years of history, and since it first began its operations in the space industry through its initial contract with the European Space Operations Centre (ESOC), GMV has demonstrated an exceptional ability to innovate. The company has looked at every new requirement and every new problem as a challenge, and as an opportunity to create something new or improve something that already existed. And the driving force behind all of this success has always been the talent and skills of the people at GMV.
GMV’s story is one marked by innovation, growth, and a commitment to technological excellence, from its earliest days as a startup created by a small group of engineers, until reaching its current status as a multinational tech firm with a leadership position in multiple fields. Clearly, GMV has already had a significant impact on the technology sector.

Pascal Claudel

Operations Director at EUSPA

First of all, enjoy your 40th anniversary! What incredible career!
I would like to congratulate GMV staff for its commitment and performance but also its executive management to succeed to master this growth by going outside of the box while reinforcing its know-how at each stage to make GMV a sustainable and reliable key space actor for the EU!
What I would like to highlight is the GMV capacities to innovate, to hear the customer needs, to correct what doesn’t work through a fast manner, to fight to get a new market as a warrior mindset!
Please continue on this way through a clear vision!
The future belongs to the European leaders as you!

Geraldine Naja

With a diverse presence across 9 countries in Europe and a dedicated team of 1,700 in space, GMV is more crucial than ever to the success of Europe in space. Here’s to continuing our journey together, exploring new frontiers and achieving greater heights. Happy anniversary, GMV!

Guillermo Cisneros Pérez

President of the Technical University of Madrid

Celebrating GMV’s first 40 years. As the President of the Technical University of Madrid, I feel a special connection to this celebration, because GMV could be the most powerful example we have of the entrepreneurial spirit existing in the university environment, since the company was created by members of one of our own research groups.
That “Flight Mechanics Group”, which gave rise to the company known as GMV, was part of what was then called the School of Aeronautical Engineering (now the School of Aeronautical and Space Engineering), and in my view, the company’s story should be included as a case study in the many “Innovation” and “Entrepreneurship” master’s degree programs that have become so popular these days. During these last 40 years, GMV has also served as role model for public-private collaboration, and has demonstrated how much progress we can make when we work together. Happy anniversary GMV!

Arlen Kassighian

Chief Engineering Officer at Eutelsat

Common history of Eutelsat Group and GMV.

The collaborative journey between Eutelsat Group and GMV has been a testament to innovation and partnership. Since as early as 1995 and over the years, our shared history has witnessed remarkable evolution, characterized by mutual trust and a commitment to pushing boundaries in ground segment technology. From pioneering early projects to meet the highly demanding requirements for accurately computing flight dynamics for the Eutelsat Group fleet of satellites and safely controlling increasingly sophisticated spacecraft, to navigating the complexities of implementing Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to autonomously optimize the configuration of available satellite payload resources, Eutelsat Group and GMV have continually elevated standards delivering cutting-edge solutions that have redefined possibilities. This partnership has not only constituted a win-win scenario for both companies but has also significantly contributed to technological advancements beneficial to the global space industry (Quantum CMRS being one of the last example).

Together, we have forged a legacy of excellence, shaping the future and leaving an indelible mark on the industry, which we trust will continue in the years to come.

From my position in companies such as Hispasat and Hisdesat, I have been able to witness first-hand the excellent technical skills and dedication of its professionals, who have enabled the company to achieve results that would have been difficult to imagine forty years ago. The company’s development since its inception has been spectacular. From our earliest missions, it has been able to respond successfully to ever greater and more complex needs, such as those we face today. You are the very best example of the enormous potential that Spaniards and Spanish industry have to compete in the global marketplace, and you have a very promising future ahead of you. It is always a pleasure to work and do business with a company as reliable and friendly as yours, so I encourage you to maintain this admirable course.

Santiago Moral

CEO at Xauen

It has now been more than 25 years since I first began following GMV on the cybersecurity forums, and I’ve never missed any of your conferences, which are always excellent. And it was more than 20 years ago that we started working together, first as suppliers, and then during the last couple of years as partners. I’ve had the good fortune to be able to work with you in our industry, on the ideation, development, and launching of innovative and disruptive products. Back in 1996, there were very few Spanish companies already setting up firewalls, and you’re still doing it today, at the highest level. I think you’re the only ones in Spain. I encourage all of you to maintain your leading position in our industry. Now more than ever, we need Spanish companies that are able to guide us through the radical transformation that cybersecurity will be experiencing in the next few years with the rise of generative artificial intelligence. I also hope that I’ll continue to have the good fortune of working together with you closely during this next stage.

As Head of the Space Command for the Spanish Air and Space Force, it is an honor for me to congratulate GMV on the 40th anniversary of its creation. During those 40 years, the company has continued to solidify its position as a leader in the space industry.
GMV, innovation, and entrepreneurship have always gone hand-in-hand, and this has been an essential part of developing the company’s excellent international reputation. GMV made a decisive commitment to space, and on that basis, it has now become the top worldwide provider of satellite control centers, as well as Europe’s sixth largest corporate group in the space industry.
The Spanish Space Command needs committed companies like GMV, with their leading-edge technologies and the experience necessary to produce effective and adaptable operational solutions. I know that this remarkable anniversary will be just the beginning of a fantastic future in space, as we continue to make history together.

Lorena Cuadrado Aníbarro

Director of the D&C-O&M Area for Europe and new markets at Cintra-Ferrovia

Congratulations to the entire GMV family on your 40th anniversary! Looking back, I can imagine the excitement that must have existed at GMV when the company was founded in the 1980s, when we could only dream about many of the technologies we now take for granted today. And it is only with that hindsight that we can imagine how a great team of professionals, with their backgrounds in technical knowledge and teaching, combined with a vision for the future, could start up GMV, a company that has now become a technological leader in Europe.

I especially want to congratulate everyone at GMV for their impressive dedication and work efforts, which I have witnessed on our projects.

So from everyone here at Cintra, the highway infrastructure subsidiary of Ferrovial S.E., we wish you a happy anniversary. I hope that you will never stop innovating, because you still have an exciting future in front of you. Here’s to 40 more years!

Pepe de la Peña Muñoz

Partner of Ediciones CODA

GMV is a shining example of private-sector initiative, as a multinational firm that carries all the best traditions of Spanish technical engineering in its DNA: creativity, foresight, rigor, technical skill, humanism, commitment, and excellence.

About 30 years ago, or in other words, 10 years after it was founded, GMV created a new line of business in the field of cybersecurity, further demonstrating its status as a pioneering company. Today, GMV has become a key player and a member of an exclusive club of private-sector companies with the ability to bring digital sovereignty to Spain and the European Union, while at the same time moving forward with its international expansion.

I’m happy to celebrate 40 years of making history, and here’s to the future too!

Jorge Rodrigo Domínguez

Regional Minister of Housing, Transportation and Infrastructure of the Community of Madrid

It is a great privilege for us to be celebrating the 40th anniversary of GMV Innovating Solutions S.L. Here I refer to “us” not because I am one of your company’s 3,200 employees, but because GMV is an important part of our region, the Community of Madrid, where it provides a model of management and research that can only be described as exemplary.

There, just outside of Madrid, in our municipality 179 better known as Tres Cantos, you have built up a multinational technology firm that now has a presence in more than 80 countries, by designing innovative solutions for highly demanding industries such as aerospace, defense, and intelligent transportation systems.

I know that our region’s entire public transportation system, including the Madrid Metro, the Madrid Regional Transportation Consortium, and several of the concessionaire companies that operate our urban and intercity bus lines, have benefited greatly from your knowledge, skill, and experience, and from the advanced models that have improved the quality, safety, and reliability of a system that collectively transports more than 5.5 million passengers each day.

If we believe the words of the famous tango song that says “20 years is nothing”, then 40 years is doubly nothing. Of course, in reality I think it is much more appropriate to say that you have done quite a lot, although it may seem like nothing when we think about how much GMV will be going on to do in the future.

The very accurate motto you have chosen for this commemoration, “Excellence and Beyond”, reflects your nonconformist ambitions, and your desire to follow a path that goes even further than excellence, to engage with that ever-changing frontier that like the limits of our universe, seems to expand every day and become more difficult, more complex, and more unknown.

Science and technology embody the world’s hopes, as we contend with a series of vital challenges, and I have no doubt that GMV will continue to make valuable contributions towards confronting those challenges and overcoming them.

Carme Fábregas

Director of Systems and Innovation at the Barcelona Metropolitan Transit Authority

40 years of GMV!
I’m able to personally share in the happiness and pride of this anniversary, because I’ve witnessed more than half of that remarkable journey, and I’ve seen how a commitment to innovation “and beyond”, as embodied in this outstanding Spanish multinational tech firm, has left its strongest mark in the form of the excellence displayed by the company’s people and teams.

For those of us working in the fields of public transportation and mobility, which are essential driving forces of urban life and progress, our responsibility for selecting technology providers requires us to understand that projects will turn into programs, and that reliability is fundamental. Fortunately for us, during all these years GMV has always understood this too, and has never failed to honor its commitments.

Our most sincere congratulations!

Ricardo Martí Fluxá

President at TEDAE

All of us here at the Spanish Association of Defense, Aeronautical, and Space Technologies (TEDAE) would like to congratulate GMV on its 40th anniversary. We’re proud to have GMV as a member of our association, as one of our 100 Spanish companies operating in the defense, security, aeronautics, and space industries, and we appreciate the company’s reliably active presence when the time comes to promote ongoing work in these fields. We also think it’s important to recognize the fundamental and strategic impact that GMV has had on Spain’s high-tech industries.
Along with the rest of our members, GMV sets an example to be followed, while also giving visibility and recognition to the constant, remarkable evolution of the space industry in Spain, which is having such an important on the country, its economy, and its progress.

Alberto Fonseca Mallol

Technology Director at TMB Barcelona

I still remember the first time I had an opportunity to share our technological vision with GMV. It was back in 2004, when we were creating a new architecture for the onboard systems of our buses at the Barcelona Metropolitan Transit Authority (TMB).
We had developed a very ambitious and innovative plan, which required breaking out of the technological silos that had existed up until then. We were trying to replace our earlier approach with a set of independent systems interconnected through a local network, with interaction via TMB’s proprietary data model.
Our overall plan required execution of a significant number of projects, which ultimately were executed brilliantly over the course of the following years: a new computer-aided dispatch / automatic vehicle location system for the entire fleet, integrated communications using the TETRA voice and data system, a message announcement and video surveillance system on the entire fleet of buses, real-time images for the light rail trains, etc.
Personally, I was especially impressed by the professionalism and dedication of GMV’s technical team, the vision of the company’s management, and the quality of the solutions provided. Ever since then, GMV has been one of our essential partners, and we have always been very satisfied with their ability to support our ongoing advances.
This is why we’re happy to congratulate GMV on its 40th anniversary, and to express our thanks for all these things!

Lieutenant General Fernando Miguel García y García de las Hijas

Chief of the Army's Logistics Support Command

For the Spanish Army, GMV is our leading command and control supplier for our indirect fire systems, including our field artillery systems and mounted mortar models.
After a successful R&D process for its TALOS system, which the Army has been employing through a variety of deliverables, the latest version of this software has been added to the Army’s inventory. This is strengthening our integration with other systems, while also ensuring effective evolutionary maintenance. The TALOS system has also been implemented in ongoing operations involving mounted mortars, where it has earned the designation of “combat proven” after its capabilities were demonstrated in live-fire situations.
TALOS will continue to be a central command and control element in our artillery units, through its inclusion in the ZEUS program as an integral part of the command and control software for the “Digital Combat Brigade”.
In addition, GMV is a leading company in terms of integrating inertial and satellite-based navigation into our systems, including armaments and our VERT and 8x8 tactical vehicles, to support our need for strategic autonomy in this area.
The capacity for innovation and development that GMV has demonstrated, both within Spain and at the European level, where it participates in numerous projects, is based on reliable quality and a secure commitment to our future.

Cristina Garmendia

President at COTEC

In the same year when Steve Jobs promised the world, in the famous Apple Computer TV commercial, that 1984 would not be like 1984, a bold group of engineers from the Technical University of Madrid’s School of Aeronautical Engineering, led by Juan José Martínez García, started up an aerospace company, like an act of rebellion against the Orwellian ghosts that were still haunting our campus.
Also in that same year, Spain’s national basketball team won the country’s first Olympic medal in that sport in Los Angeles, a city known as a world capital of basketball. It was a remarkable achievement, which announced to the world that Spain would no longer remain on the sidelines, in that sport or in anything else. And over the course of the last 40 years, GMV has become a legendary team, just like that basketball team led by Juan Antonio Corbalán, and the company has evolved into a group of internationally known and respected leaders and role models, just like the members of Spain’s national basketball team today. Congratulations!

José Ignacio Garrido González

Global Director of Information Security at BBVA

Congratulations on your 40 years of success! Your commitment and experience have made it a pleasure for us to share this journey with you. Even with our most advanced and complex technological challenges, GMV has always given us the assistance we’ve needed, with the most skillful engineers and a desire to always go one step further. Clearly, the word impossible does not appear in your dictionary, and at BBVA, we know that this attitude is essential for innovation, and for providing the assistance you have given us with so many facets of our operations: physical security, fraud prevention, cybersecurity, and many others. We have learned so much by traveling this path together with you, and we hope that our collaboration will continue for many more years in the future!

Major General Rafael Gómez Blanco

Director of Engineering of the MALOG of the Spanish Air Force

It’s very satisfying for me to be writing these comments about GMV, a company that I first began working with soon after it was initially founded by members of the prestigious Flight Mechanics Group at the Technical University of Madrid’s School of Aeronautical Engineering.
Even back then GMV stood out, by bringing together a constant urge to explore new frontiers of knowledge with the type of entrepreneurial spirit typical of technological startups. Since those earliest days working in the field of Orbital Mechanics, GMV has grown into a company with a portfolio of projects that cover a diversified range of fields, such as space, defense, cybersecurity, intelligent transportation systems, effects calculation, mission systems, and guidance, navigation, and control systems.
Throughout all these years, GMV has known how to stay connected with its roots in research, while expressing its innovative nature and a high level of technical rigor. All of this has made it possible for the company to address even the most complex problems with a engineering-based approach.
Congratulations to GMV, and many thanks too, for your outstanding technical contributions to Spain’s development, defense, and security. We now wish you the best of luck in taking on the new challenges that lie ahead.

Miguel Ángel Gómez Tierno

Vice-President of Students at the UPM // Professor of Flight Mechanics at ETSIAE-UPM

“Excellence” is a word we tend to hear quite a lot these days, although in many cases we may wonder whether its use is really appropriate.
However, using “excellence” as part of the theme selected for the celebration of GMV’s 40th anniversary is definitely right on target.
From the time when the company was first founded back in 1984, as a spin-off of the Flight Mechanics Group from the Technical University of Madrid’s School of Aeronautical Engineering, and all the way through to the present day, everything GMV has done has clearly been “excellent”. In particular, this includes its ability to hire the best students from each university graduating class, at first from among those with degrees in Aeronautical Engineering, but then as the company continued to expand, it began to hire other types of engineers and scientists from a whole range of disciplines.
Congratulations to the entire GMV family! Now we’ll be looking forward to your 50th, 75th, and 100th anniversaries too, and beyond!

María González Corral

Minister of Mobility and Digital Transformation of the Regional Government of Castile and León

On behalf of the regional government of Castile and León, I would like to congratulate each and every person who has been part of the great GMV business family, in the past and in the present.
Congratulations for your outstanding work, and for the successes you’ve achieved over the course of all these years. They are the result of your ongoing innovation, which has been essential for driving the digital transformation in our society and for retaining our talent here in Castile and León.
Your dedication and vision of the future, which have been your defining characteristics since your company’s earliest days, have now made you a leader in multiple industries where you offer your efficient and innovative solutions.
For all of this, we now offer our congratulations and best wishes for another 40 years!

Admiral Ricardo A. Hernández López

Chief Admiral of Logistics Support of the Spanish Navy

GMV’s 40 years of history are also 40 years of collaboration with the Spanish Navy.
Our relationship began back in 1986 with the SPICA Program, which studied active electronic countermeasures that could interfere with the final guidance of anti-ship missiles, and it continues today with a variety of projects for the F110 Frigate Program, where GMV’s SENDA navigation system is a major highlight. This is a robust positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) system that can combine information from multiple global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) with other navigation data sources, to provide the positioning and time reference data required by various onboard systems.
Meanwhile, we have also been jointly confronting a whole series of other technological challenges, and this is evidenced by the fact that GMV has now contributed its mark of excellence to practically all of the Spanish Navy’s vessels.
All of us here at the Logistics Support Command greatly appreciate these 40 years of collaboration, and we wish you ongoing success in the future, because we know that some of those successes will benefit not only Spain’s defense industry and Navy, but also the country as a whole.

Antonio Ibáñez Pascual

General Director of Telecommunications and Digital Administration of the regional government of Castile and León

My relationship with GMV goes back almost 20 years, when we began working on various projects through my position at the regional government of Castile and León, such as giving our agencies a stronger presence on the Internet, improving our administrative transparency, and addressing our cybersecurity needs. All of these strategic technological projects were executed in a highly satisfactory and successful manner. I’d also like to emphasize not only the professional quality of the people I’ve worked with at GMV, but also their human qualities, which have always made it easy to achieve our common goals.

Robert L. Jackson

SouthPAN Project Manager at Lockheed Martin

Collaborating with GMV has been a highlight of my career. Our relationship first began in 2006, when we worked on a relatively small research activity focused on modelling the ionosphere in the equatorial region. Even though the effort was modest, GMV brought world-class talent to the initiative. GMV engineers were creative and dedicated to finding a solution to the problem.
Fast forward several years, and GMV again engaged with enthusiasm on a much larger initiative—leading the transition to Dual Frequency, Multiple Constellation Satellite-Based Augmentation System, and the simultaneous transformation of the delivery model for SBAS-as-a-service. From the beginning, GMV brought the finest talent and the best ideas for delivering value to customers and end users. Innovation has always been at the heart of GMV.

Roberto Miguel Lagomarsino Michelis

Technical Director at Tranvía Zaragoza

In August 2009, we began working on the first phase of Line 1 for the city of Zaragoza’s light rail system. Our deadlines were tight, with a strict commitment to the government to have that first 6 km phase in operation within 24 months. During that period, we had to construct the infrastructure, install all of the systems, and supply the trains. As you can imagine, we had all kinds of problems to solve. One of those problems involved how we would be able to integrate the passenger information system and computer-aided dispatch / automatic vehicle location systems into those new trains. That was when a very patient member of GMV’s team appeared, who wrote down notes about what we needed before returning to Valladolid. Meanwhile, those of us on the Construction Management team, a recently created legal requirement back then, were wondering whether GMV would really be able to fulfil our needs and interface correctly with the train manufacturer. In the end there was no need to worry. All of the work commissioned to GMV went into operation right on time, and even now we continue to benefit from their unassuming but highly effective approach to the work they perform.

José Manuel Leceta

General Director at Innova IRV

When I first joined Spain’s Center for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI) in 1992, as a representative of the satellite communications committee of the European Space Agency (ESA), I was able to participate in development of the EGNOS program, which was the predecessor of the Galileo system. GMV was already doing work for the ESA at that time, and also for Spain’s public airport management company, AENA, and the company encouraged us to articulate technological and operational objectives for those two entities. This led to an unprecedented contribution to the ESA program of 12%. Later, on its own merits, GMV would go on to be awarded the largest contract in its history for the Galileo control system. We should therefore recognize GMV not only as a role model based on its remarkable history, and for the contributions it has made to Spain’s space industry, but also as a source of inspiration, so we can take on other challenges with the same spirit of confidence and determination.

Guillermo Llorente

Corporate Director of Security at MAPFRE

In Spain, we have long been the victims of a series of unfounded myths known collectively as the “Black Legend”. One of these involves our supposed lack of capacity for innovation or business initiative. Of course, none of those myths are true. Instead, they are just spurious stories that others have used to advance their own interests. Fortunately, the creation and growth of companies like GMV can go a long way towards revealing this deception.

Those of us who have been familiar with GMV for many years know that the company has always had some remarkable characteristics: leading-edge technical capabilities, the ability to take on complex projects, a strong spirit of innovation, and a flexible, client-centered approach. All of these have allowed GMV to take on new challenges while also (and although this may sound a bit strange when referring to an aerospace company) keeping its feet on the ground, which is something we always look for when seeking out long-term partners.

For all of the reasons above, it is now a pleasure to share the happiness of this 40th anniversary celebration.

Pablo López Gil

General Manager at Leading Brands of Spain Forum

For all of us in Spain, GMV is a company we can feel proud of. It has become a worldwide leader in technology, operating in important strategic industries, and it serves as a role model for so many other companies that hope to follow in its footsteps, as well as for young people and students who will become our engineers, researchers, and entrepreneurs of tomorrow. As a brand, GMV acts like an ambassador for Spain. It is also an example of a company that believes in, protects, and understands the importance of its intangible assets, such as its branding, innovation, and talent. GMV is a group of people who are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of knowledge. The time has now come to celebrate everything that GMV has achieved during these last 40 years, although we also know that the best is yet to come.

Ramón Ortiz

Security manager at Mediaset

I was just a few months ago that I was congratulating Eva Martínez for her 17 years at GMV. We reminisced about the day we first met, which was just a few days after she was hired there. I remember that day because it was the same month when my twins were born, and in fact, that was an event we both remembered.
Mediaset was already one of GMV’s clients then, and we still are today. I hope our collaboration will continue, because we know that we can always rely upon GMV for outstanding products and services, delivered on time, by qualified professionals. In other words, excellence in every aspect of the product. We also know that we will always be working with a company that can serve as a role model, in terms of the quality of its people, its values, and its reputation. We often hear suppliers bragging about their clients, but sometimes clients can brag about their suppliers too, and this is the case for us with GMV. Congratulations on your 40th anniversary.

Félix Pérez Martínez

President at Fundación Círculo de Tecnologías para la Defensa y Seguridad

Ever since it was first created, GMV has participated in the activities of what was initially known as the Military Electronics Group, which later transformed into our current Defense and Security Technologies Group Foundation. Over the course of those 40 years, GMV continued to make an undeniably important contribution, based on the common goal existing in Spain of domestic development of technologies for defense and security applications. Our aim has always been to create a technological and industrial base that can support the critical missions of our country’s armed forces and law enforcement agencies.
We would like to congratulate everyone at GMV on the company’s 40th anniversary, and we look forward to having GMV as one of our leading technology firms in the aerospace, defense, and ICT industries for at least another 40 years, with sustainable growth, many technological advances, and an abundance of success.

Gustavo Alonso Rodrigo

Director of the Higher Technical School of Aeronautical and Space Engineering at the UPM

In the same year when my own career as an aeronautical engineer began, GMV was created, and I became one of the company’s first employees. I have been extremely proud to witness its meteoric growth, which I have followed with admiration over the years, along with the substantial contribution it has made to strengthening Spain’s aerospace and defense industries. I still have good friends at the company, and from my position here at the Technical University of Madrid, as Director of the School of Aeronautical and Space Engineering, I will continue working to strengthen the excellent relationship we have maintained with GMV for these last 40 years. My most sincere congratulations to everyone who has spent these last four decades pushing the limits, to make all of this success possible.

Brigadier General Juan Carlos Sánchez Delgado

Director of Security and Planning of the Spanish Space Agency

Since 2016, GMV has been a collaborator for development, management, and operation of the Spanish Space Surveillance and Tracking Operations Centre (S3TOC), initially via Spain’s Center for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI), and then since 2023 as part of the Spanish Space Agency (AEE). During these years, GMV’s technologies and work efforts have made a substantial contribution to our country’s ability to start providing space surveillance and tracking services as part of the European Union’s SST Partnership, while also helping Spain gain a reputation as a worldwide leader in this field. On behalf of everyone here at the Spanish Space Agency, I’d like to congratulate the team at GMV on this 40th anniversary, and express my confidence that your company will remain on the leading edge of operations related to space security and sustainability.

Manuel Sierra Castañer

Director of the Higher Technical School of Telecommunications Engineering at the UPM

Ever since it was first created, GMV has occupied a special place at the Technical University of Madrid’s School of Telecommunications Engineering. This is not just because the company was founded by a group of colleagues from our university, but especially because we all share a common goal: enhancing the well-being of our communities by applying the most advanced information and communication technologies. In addition to providing support to our students through its various awards, many of our students have found a place at GMV after graduating, attracted by its technological profile, the contents of its projects, and the strong reputation of its work environment.
Some of our cooperative programs with GMV now seem like part of the distant past: our first collaboration agreements in the early 1990s, working on the digitalization process for Spain’s infrastructure, and the company’s entry into the space industry. Now we all have new challenges to face, but we know that GMV’s future will be one filled with even more success stories. Congratulations!

Agustín Yagüe Panadero

Director of the Higher Technical School of IT Systems Engineering at the UPM

My most sincere congratulations to GMV on its 40th anniversary. GMV is a leading engineering firm in the aeronautics industry, and it has a long-standing relationship with the Technical University of Madrid. In recent years, GMV and our School of IT Systems Engineering have strengthened our collaboration through what is known as the GMV Sponsorship Program. For our students, GMV has become an important source of internships, as well as a great place to get started with their careers because of the excellent opportunities for professional development offered there. In the field of engineering, GMV represents a prime example of a company committed to quality and innovation. We’re proud to have them as one of our collaborators, and we wish them many more years of success.

Pablo Zamorano Balmaseda

Senior Partner at Kreab

GMV is a true business success story. Over the course of four decades, it has emerged as a symbol of leadership, dedication, and commitment to the future, through its development of advanced technological solutions in strategic areas such as aerospace, defense, and security. The company’s 40th anniversary represents not just the legacy of a company that has constantly expanded and evolved, it also reflects the characteristics that, in my view, have always been a fundamental part of GMV’s identity: a reliance upon innovation to achieve things that may seem impossible, and an ongoing pursuit of excellence in everything the company does. Congratulations to GMV for these 40 years of history, and thank you for relying upon Kreab as part of your remarkable journey.
